Our Mission

DON'T EVER LET THE TRUTH GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY

The City has an extraordinary history — but not all of it makes it into the history books. Square Mile Files exists to capture the stories that might otherwise disappear: the characters, conversations, traditions, triumphs, disasters, friendships, rivalries and ridiculous moments that make up the real life of the City.

We want to create a living archive of the Square Mile, recording the voices and experiences of the people who have shaped it — and those who are shaping it today. Because history isn't just the big events. It's the stories people tell over lunch, in the pub, and years later when someone says, “Do you remember when…?”

We're here to make sure those stories don't get lost.

The Host

Sophie has heard her fair share of City stories over a boozy lunch — the outrageous ones, the unbelievable ones, and the ones that probably should have stayed at the table. But good stories deserve a bigger audience.

So she’s opening the files up to the real world, sitting down with the people behind the City to find out what really goes on inside the Square Mile.
